DesignMarch in Copenhagen
DesignMarch in collaboration with the Icelandic Embassies in the Nordic capitals host events in the form of podcasts, taped in the preparation of the festival in Iceland. Participants in Copenhagen are Kristín Brynja Gunnarsdóttir has degrees in Architecture as well as Interior Design from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and Tine Winther Rysgaard has a degree in Fashion Design from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Moderator is Ásta Stefánsdóttir has a masters degree in English- and Theater studies from the University of Copenhagen.
The aim is to bring together designers from Iceland and the Nordic capitals in an interesting conversation about design and architecture, thereby creating a foreign forum for the festival in collaboration with the embassy and foreign cooperation site. In the time of Covid and closed borders, it is important to strengthen communication across those borders and to draw attention towards DesignMarch and Icelandic design from abroad.

Kristín Brynja Gunnarsdóttir has degrees in Architecture as well as Interior Design from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. She is also a yarn producer and the woman behind Einrúm. On the one hand there is Einrúm Architects which Kristín runs with her husband, Steffan Iwersen, but on the other hand the company produces Einrúm Yarn, which is yarn spun from Icelandic wool and Thai mulberry silk. The yarn company has been in operation since 2012 and has buyers from all over Europe, as well as South Korea, Russia and USA.
Tine Winther Rysgaard has a degree in Fashion Design from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. She works as a designer for the Danish knitting company Kit Couture, which sells knitwear in ready-to-knit kits. The company operates under the title "we design, you create", with an emphasis on contemporary and fashionable knitting design.
Ásta Stefánsdóttir has a masters degree in English- and Theater studies from the University of Copenhagen. She works as a project manager at North Atlantic House in Copenhagen, while producing podcasts for the Network of Icelandic Women in Denmark in her spare time.
