Museum of Design and Applied Art
The Museum of Design and Applied Art collects, preserves, researches and exhibits Icelandic design from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day.
The museum consists of the following elements: THE MAIN EXHIBITION with new showstwice a year, DESIGNER IN RESIDENCE where guests can meet designers and learn about different design practices, BEHIND THE SCENES is a space dedicated to research in the design field andfinally our beautiful MUSEUM SHOP where you can explore work from around 30 Icelandic designers.
The Museum is located at Garðatorg 1. The director is Sigríður Sigurjónsdóttir.
Opening hours are all days from 12 - 17, except Mondays are closed.
