DesignMarch is right around the corner!
The sweet harbinger of spring, the most fun festival of the year and the harvest of Icelandic design is ahead, as DesignMarch takes place from April 2nd to 5th. Icelandic design in its most diverse form takes the stage as usual, with over hundred events and exhibitions this year and even more participants. Architecture, artifacts, fashion, product design, experiences, and much more will be on offer throughout the greater capital area, although the vast majority of the program is in downtown Reykjavík.
Inspiration, Creation, and Limitless Joy
'DesignMarch is now in its 17th year, and as usual, the program bursts forth in a celebration of creativity and unbounded art and design. Designers from the country open their doors for the public to come, see, and experience. We can't wait to welcome you and celebrate Icelandic design,' says Helga Ólafsdóttir, managing director of DesignMarch.
DesignMarch would be nothing without the designers, and it is safe to say that the creative sectors in Iceland are brimming with energy and ideas. 'We who are preparing DesignMarch are extremely grateful for the fantastic collaboration with the country's designers who create this annual festival with us. It is our hope that DesignMarch will provide people with inspiration, joy, and be an incredibly fun experience for both guests and organizers,' says Helga.

DesignTalks is one of the main event as previous years. 'This year the focus is on where ideas originate. Exceptionally qualified people from their fields take over Harpa and talk about the creative process and how we repeatedly draw from the source of ideas. We will hear from the couple behind Farmers Market, Bergthora and Jóel, who are celebrating their 20th design anniversary and truly have an exciting and impressive story to tell, as well as Ferdinando Verderi, a leading voice in the international advertising industry who now works at Italian Vogue,' says Hlín Helga Guðlaugsdóttir, artistic director of DesignTalks.
