Excellent celebration at the Iceland Design Awards
The Icelandic Design Award 2022 took place in Gróska last Thursday. The house filled with guests that learned about and celebrated excellent design and architecture at the ceremony.
The day began with an insight into the projects nominated for this year's awards and discussions moderated by Rúna Thors, designer and lector at the design department of the Iceland University of the Arts, and Bergur Finnbogason, creative director at CCP. Afterwards, an award ceremony took place where Plastplan received the 2022 Iceland Design Award, Reynir Vilhjálmsson, landscape architect won the honorary award and Fólk Reykjavík got recognition for best investment in design.
Lilja D. Alfreðsdóttir, minister of culture and business affairs, presented the honorary award and the Icelandic Design Award and Árni Sigurjónsson, chairman of the board for the SI - the Federation of Icelandic Industries, presented the award for the best investment in design.
The film content of the award was in the hands of Einar Egilsson and Auður Ösp was in charge of the experience design.
