OPEN CALL / Ceramic Workshop: Out of Clay and Wood. Natural Materials for the Future of Architecture
Want to explore the new possibilities of clay in architecture and design?
ID Kielce, National Institute of Architecture, Urban Planning (NIAiU) and Iceland University of the Arts are launching an open call for a 5-day ceramic workshop. Participants will work with clay sourced from both the Świętokrzyskie region in Poland and Iceland. This hands-on experience will guide you through the complete ceramic-making process—from clay preparation to designing your own projects.
With the support of our tutors and invited experts, you’ll create designs inspired by traditional forms while adapting them to meet modern needs. Our primary design focus will be on exploring new applications in modern architecture during the Anthropocene. The workshop will be accompanied by a series of lectures by experts in the fields of ceramics, architecture and product design.
The event will also be a unique opportunity to meet and network with students and tutors from both countries, fostering collaboration and exchange of ideas across cultures.
