Flétta at DesignTalks 2024

Designers Hrefna Sigurðardóttir and Birta Rós Brynjólfsdóttir will be speaking at DesignTalks, taking place on the 24th of April in Harpa. Together they run the design studio Flétta that revolves around diverse projects where reusing of material and local production play a key role in their practice. On the surface, their work is characterised by playfulness but underneath critical questions are asked. 

“Paul Smith once published a book titled You can find inspiration everywhere - (And if you can't, look again.). It could have been a description of Studio Fletta’s work who find value where others see none. An important tool in the face of the global scarcity of raw materials. After all, they won the Iceland Design Award 2024 for both product and project (the latter together with Ýrúrarí).”
